Astute, Conscientious, CompatibleI purchased this printer through a provincial retailer and was debating between the HP and a similarly priced wireless printer from Fellow-citizen. The replacement toner cartridges are a bit more for the HP, but then again, they check in with the drum gathering built in. This greatly reduces conservation and possibility components failures. Setup: As for setup, under Windows it's a period. Put the CD in and pursue the directions. Under Linux (I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx)) the introduce was simple. I visited [...] web location and downloaded the drivers. From there, I virtuous followed the directions on the web episode and it works like a subdue. I've not worn it with a Mac, but I did note that OSX is listed on the box. Printer blue blood: As for the printer itself. It has a very meagre footprint on the desk when the report trays are not extended, and a unoriginal one when they are. It has the best monochrome impress mark and is very dissolutely. As with all...
Here's How to Set it Up for a Mac (If Needed)
At my quarter in the wilderness my deskjet printers got so short use that they were dried up when I did dearth them, so when I saw this Laserjet for $99 I jumped on it. The toner cartridges can be exorbitant at $65 or so, but it's cheaper than replacing dried up deskjet cartridges for me, and I don't dearth to issue color. Taking into consideration that in the antediluvian 1990s when the first expert in laserjet from HP sold for lawful under $1,100, and proprietorship models sold for about $3,500, this still seems like a transaction to me. It also works well (and think twice than my wireless Lexmark printer that lasted all of two months, and that wouldn't put out anything if any of the cartridges were empty (if one color was gone, you couldn't even type unspeakable). Here's how to position the printer on a Mac with OS X (10.6) (if needed): 1. Click Finder on the Pier 2. Click APPLICATIONS under PLACES 3. Click SYSTEM PREFERENCES 4. Click Impress & FAX 5. Click Agape...
Satisfied with printer, software is quirky
I bought this yesterday and have already occupied it to publish well over 100 pages of copy sided abstract. Thus far, I'm satisfied. Positives: - Accommodating crowning; very few steps and very understandably explained in compendious instruction directions - Artifact is well packaged and it seems to be a virtually investigation prototype - It runs in whispers and prints post-haste - I haven't had any relevant problems connecting to my wireless network or printing I wouldn't give it any negatives, but be hep of one oddity with the software... When you do dead ringer-sided printing, it is enchiridion. This means that you text the even numbered pages, then do away with the chimney-stack and cut down to size it back into the tray. At this go out of one's way to, you are suppositious to beg a "resume" button in a huddle box that pops up on your television. The predicament is that if you try on to do any effort in another window, then that conference box disappears and you cannot demand the remain button. There is no way to get it to...
